Lately I have been asking myself what’s the worst that could happen? When it comes to trusting God you either go ALL the way in ie put ALL your trust in Him, put ALL in your eggs in the trust God basket, put ALL your faith in Him or you just don’t. It’s that simple.
There’s no short cuts when it comes to trusting God. You can’t have half faith or half trust. It’s either everything or nothing at all. There’s no in between.
It’s kinda scary thinking about it. You know we sing and declare “Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders let me walk upon the waters wherever You would call me….” BUT do we really truly understand what that means? Do we understand the implication of declaring “I give myself away so You can use me…” There’s power in those declarations!
Life with God is a journey of trust because you just don’t know, you just have no idea where you will end up. This is not to say we should then take a backseat and watch life fade away. NO. We become active participants in the journey, we partner with God in the process and how do we do that?
We trust God.
We surrender to God.
We allow Him to lead the way.
Esther made a powerful declaration in Esther 4:16. She declared “if I perish I perish.”
“Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!” This is a woman who had made up her mind and after considering what the worst case scenario could be, she was determined to trust God.
I believe God is calling us to have the same attitude. The attitude of asking ourselves what’s the worst that could happen when we trust God? We already know that we will have victory when we trust God because He only has plans to prosper us and give us hope and future Jeremiah 29:11.
Seriously what’s the worst that could happen? I dare you to be like Esther and go all the way in and trust God.
