Walking The Runway-Fashion and Disability Part 3

I am still amazed at the fact that what started as a simple thought turned into a blog post which later led me to being a model on the runway. To see where it all started, read this first then followed by this.

In December last year when my friend RKM asked us if we could model in an event she had been invited to at the last minute, I was a bit hesitant because at this point I was so tired. That weekend alone we had done two events. I however agreed cause she’s my girl and I absolutely love walking the runway in an RKM outfit and I am so glad I did cause it turned out to be the best runway show we have done to date. Just before the show, we had a short rehearsal. When I initially saw the runway I was a bit freaked out because it was longer than anything we had done before and it was attached to the stage meaning it was an elevated runaway. My instant thoughts were don’t fall, don’t fall, don’t fall. Thankfully I didn’t fall, the runway was so big in fact we could all fit on the runway at the same time.

What I loved the most about this show is how we walked the runway in pairs. My partner was so much fun to work with, we really took our time on the runway and the audience loved us. Also there were so many photographers at that show, it felt like I was on a runway in Paris haha. The audience was also very receptive when I came out and they took lots of photos of little old me. The best part of the night for me was wearing an outfit that I had seen one of the other models wear at a previous show. When the designer handed me the outfit, I told her I couldn’t fit into the dress but she assured me that I could and lo and behold I did. In my head, because she had previously custom made a runway outfit for me, that was the only outfit I could fit into but clearly I was very wrong. Anyway let me share some photos from the shows we did end of last year.

Unfortunately I cannot upload any videos but if you would like to watch a video of me on the runway, you can watch here but please note it’s from 4 mins 56 sec-9mins 22 sec mark and everything else was of the Miss Malaika event.

Below are pics of all the shows I was in last year.

    1. It really was a lot of fun but I have to admit it’s good to have my weekends free now. After those 6 weeks, I was so tired man. Oh you watched the video? Duuuude I was totally freaking out especially the part when we were all on the runway at the same time. I kept saying to myself “please don’t trip on anyone’s dress, please don’t trip on anyone’s dress..” I like “why I am not a model (not yet anyway)…! Thank you for reading and watching the video.
