The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of His people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
This is one of my favourite verses at the moment.
Hope means a feeling of trust.
Strength is the capacity of an object or substance to withstand great force or pressure.
Now when I read this in light of these definitions, the verse has a whole new meaning for me. “But the Lord will be the hope of His people” becomes But the Lord will become my trust, not me putting trust in other things, people or even trust in myself but trust in the Lord. “And strength of the children of Israel” becomes the Lord will enable me to withstand whatever comes my way. Man this gets me excited! Just knowing that I can make the Lord my trust and He alone can enable me to withstand anything. Aaaaah bring it on life! My God has this covered !!!!
