Mind your own business

There was a lot of activity on my social media over the weekend. I was tempted to respond to some of the discussions though truth be told they were more like “fights” over different topics. As i stood on the sidelines following these discussions, i found myself getting worked up over what i was reading at the moment but as soon as i logged off social media, all those feelings were gone. Then yesterday i asked myself why i was getting worked up over these “discussions” and it hit me!!! I was immersing myself into other people’s businesses by following these discussions. Whilst all these debates were public, i was still gong back and forth to read what people were adding to the debate and because i was not involved, it really wasn’t any of my business. As a result for this week i have set a challenge for myself MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS BY SPENDING LESS TIME ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND NOT FOLLOWING ANY DISCUSSIONS.

1 Thessalonians 4:9-12

But concerning brotherly love you have no need that I should write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another; 10 and indeed you do so toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, that you increase more and more; 11 that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, 12 that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.

  1. And you know what? Those people would hardly say two words to each other if they were face to face. Social(internet) media has gone amuck! I’m too busy reading books and the bible to get into that. Love Ya daughter!
