You finally got that breakthrough that you’ve been praying for, you finally get that miracle you’ve been believing for. You are finally here! The place you’ve been dreaming about, you are here BUT you begin to complain about it. That new job is too much work, it’s not what you were expecting even though you were unhappy at your old job. You start to complain that it’s too much work, you have no free time to do anything else. That breakthrough or miracle does not seem like the happy place that you thought it would be and you begin to question this new place you’re in, you begin to question the breakthrough and the discontentment kicks in again and you’re right back at where you started from before you got the breakthrough. You ask what happened? Just a few months ago this is all i ever dreamed about, how could this go wrong? What went wrong you ask? It’s simple negativity was invited into the promise.
Exodus 14: 10-12 And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord. 11 Then they said to Moses, “Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt? 12 Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, ‘Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness.”
Here the children of Israel were complaining that the Lord had left them to die in the wilderness yet they had been ill treated for hundred of years in Egypt and were so desperate to get out. The Lord delivered them out of Egypt-they had finally received their breakthrough, their miracle was here. They now found themselves complaining about everything. An entire generation of Israelities died in the wilderness because of their unbelief and their constant complaining coming out of Egypt. Why didn’t they make it to the promised land? Because they brought negativity into the promised land instead of enjoying that new season. Don’t bring negativity into your promise. It will kill your vision, it will cloud your judgement,it will rob you for the joy of enjoying the current season. The fact that you’re in the promise land means you deserve to be there, you have the capacity to not only stay there but to go even higher. This week don’t bring negativity into your promised land.
Amen!!!!!
