Take Each Day As It Comes.

Today marks 8 weeks since my world was shattered into a million pieces after the death of a close family member. Since then I have been hanging in there just taking it one day as it comes. This “taking it one day as it comes” pretty much sums up life when you have a disability. There are so many daily challenges that we face that no-one knows about or ever gets to see. What seems so simple to everyone else can be a nightmare to us eg finding a job. I have been looking for a job since the year began. I have applied to different places countless times. Do I ever get a response? No. Do I ever give up? Absolutely not!!! I keep looking for a job and I keep applying till someone replies back, till I get that J.O.B! Bad days can tend to be a regular occurrence when you have a disability cause there are certain things that you have to depend on another person for and it sucks big time if the person doesn’t come through for you. So how have I survived 25 years with a disability you might ask? Simple, all because of GOD’S MERCY! Lamentations 3:22-23 says The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. That’s right I stand here today as a living testimony of God’s mercies which are fresh every single day even on those so called “bad” days. Everyday has its fair share of GOD’S MERCY. I have to admit though that there are many days when I feel like God’s new mercies were not part of that day eg when I get rained on and all I can think is if only I didn’t have this disability, I could use an umbrella heck I could be rolling in my own four wheels right now. When I go to bed on such days with a heavy heart, I am reminded of the undeniable fact that tomorrow is a new day and tomorrow God’s mercies will be new. Welcome each new day knowing that God has new-unseen, untold, never experienced before mercies for you…NEW DAY=NEW MERCIES!
